For the past 20 years, Hemlock has celebrated the holiday season with an annual gift wrap collection—a tradition that allows us to experiment, collaborate, and push the boundaries of the medium of print. The wraps serve as a platform to explore concepts that matter to us, and each edition is created in partnership with designers whose creativity challenges and expands what print can do.
The designs for Hemlock’s 2025 gift wrap were brought to us by Asimov Collective. Combining concepts of ecology, materiality, and scale with outstanding finishing techniques, the wraps weave together a thematic exploration of this year’s inspiration: Powers of Ten.
Powers of Ten
Powers of Ten (1977) is a short documentary film created by Charles and Ray Eames that explores the relative scale of the universe. Through this visual journey—which begins on the human scale, zooms out to the edge of the cosmos, then back in to the atomic level—the film reveals the interconnectedness of all things and the vast range of scales that define our universe. As a collection, the gift wrap serves as a humbling reminder of the intricate interdependence and scale that define both the natural world and print.
