Hemlock Ranked First in Canopy's Blueline Report

June 18, 2015

In a recent report profiling the environmental performance of North America’s leading printers, Hemlock Printers achieved the highest ranking of the Top 400 assessed.

Canopy, an international environmental not-for-profit, created The Blueline Report 2015:  North American Printers:  Sustainability, Transparency, Paper Sourcing and Forest Conservation, which ranks major printers on a set of twenty-nine criteria, including leadership on paper procurement policy, protecting endangered forests and biodiversity, and engagement in forest conservations initiatives among others.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition and thank the team at Canopy for their guidance and encouragement over the past ten years,” says Hemlock President and COO Richard Kouwenhoven. “We continue to challenge ourselves to evolve our purchasing practices and to think of new ways to engage our customers in these efforts. We also applaud the many paper manufacturers who are making the environment a priority when developing new products for the marketplace.”

The Report recognizes Hemlock’s ongoing innovation, including the 2014 initiative in collaboration with Neenah Papers to offer Coronado 100, a unique 100% post-consumer text and cover paper grade that is also 100% Carbon Neutral.

Intended to help direct print buyers to the sector’s leaders in environmental performance, the full Report is available at http://canopyplanet.org/business/commercial-printers/blue-line-report-2015/
