For over a decade, Hemlock's ZERO Carbon Neutral Printing Program has offered our clients the option to purchase carbon neutral print jobs.
When clients place an order for a carbon neutral print job, the carbon emissions that would be produced from paper production and transportation are neutralized by investing in clean tech projects through our partner, Offsetters. These clean tech projects include the Quadra Island Forestland Conservation Project and the Great Bear Rainforest Carbon Project in Haida Gwaii, British Columbia.
Not All Heroes Wear Capes
Since its launch in 2009, ZERO participants have offset over 12 million kilograms in carbon emissions. Since 2016, participation in the ZERO program has increased, with the amount of carbon emissions offset increasing by 38%. Moving forward, we hope to continue to expand our ZERO client base and reduce our overall carbon footprint.
Continuing to Grow
In 2018 alone, our ZERO clients offset over 1.8 million kilograms of CO2e, which is equivalent to taking over 380 cars off the road for one year. WorkSafeBC and Stripe were among our top contributors in the program and we would like to thank them for joining us in creating a more sustainable future and encourage our current and new clients to do the same. We can all take steps towards a sustainable future by making environmentally conscious decisions.
