Off Cuts for Charity (OC4C)

Off Cuts for Charity (OC4C) is an initiative developed by Hemlock as part of our contribution to our community. The program is designed to provide printing services to qualified charitable organizations by offering space on existing print runs, with a focus on charities in the areas of children, public health and the environment. With the OC4C program, the value of unused space on a press sheet is realized for the benefit of charitable causes by allowing them to "share the ride"! Rather than simply recycling this unused space, we make the space available to our community by giving it a second life for the benefit of a social or environmental cause.

At Hemlock, we value the importance of contributing to our community, and this is one of the many ways that we continue to practice our commitment to sustainability.

For more information on the OC4C program, please contact your graphic designer or your Hemlock sales representative.

During the past three years, Hemlock helped over 60 charitable organizations by printing over 100,000 pieces of promotional materials. Some of the organizations that Hemlock has helped include:
  • BC Special Olympics
  • SPCA
  • Canadian Red Cross
  • Kids Help Phone
  • Burnaby Christmas Bureau
  • BC Cancer Society
  • Big Brothers and Big Sisters
  • YMCA and YWCA
Hemlock was recognized with an award for Community Involvement in the 2006 Environmental Printing Awards for this innovative program.
