Burnaby Christmas Bureau

In 2000, a group of Hemlock employees formed a committee to raise finds for the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. In six years, this employee-driven initiative has raised over $47,000 to support the cause.

The Burnaby Christmas Bureau ensures that financially disadvantaged families will not go without food, and children will not go without toys during the holiday season. Hemlock’s committee plans a variety of events to raise funds in support of the Bureau, including 50/50 draws, bake sales, a silent auction and a coin drive. Hemlock employees willingly participate in these events and were able to raise $6,685 in 2007 to help brighten the holiday season for over 1,400 Burnaby families who counted on the Christmas Bureau this past year.
