How Zero Works

Hemlock doesn’t produce paper. We order it, print and finish it, and then deliver the final product to our customers. The lifecycle of paper from forest, to mill, to transportation and disposal/recycling emits CO2 emissions at every stage. We want to work with you to reduce that impact.

Your Zero offset purchases allows you to invest in renewable energy and clean technology projects that would otherwise not be developed without your help.

Hemlock, working in partnership with Offsetters, ensures that the North American offsets we purchase on your behalf meet the highest industry standards.

Offsetters meets or exceeds the benchmarks of the Gold Standard for 'real', 'additional' and 'permanent' greenhouse gas reductions. In addition, Offsetters registers its emission reduction projects on the Markit Environmental Registry which tracks carbon offsets, and reports when they are retired or sold.

With your Zero experience, we also provide you with a quarterly statement describing the project, date and amount of CO2 you're directly responsible for offsetting.
