Proofing

Hemlock operates in a computer-to-plate workflow. Our workflow also provides the following services, depending on our clients’ needs:

Proofing Process: Our proofing process includes the issue of a colour-accurate high resolution Digital Matchprint proof for colour and content, as well as a low resolution Digiline proof for content and finishing. Wherever possible, Hemlock can issue PDF proofs for acceptance by the client where colour matching is not critical, or content is black and white only.

Press Proofs: For all spot colours and custom mixed inks, Hemlock will supply an ink drawdown on the actual job stock. Hemlock offers live press checks for clients to sign off at the press. Where necessary, this service must be discussed in advance with the account representative.

Colour Retouching: Hemlock employs a talented staff of specialists to perform colour corrections and retouching to images.

On-Site Monitor and Print Calibration: Hemlock is able to provide assistance in performing calibrations to our clients’ on-site monitors and printers. In addition, Hemlock’s monitors and proofing devices are calibrated twice daily to ensure that operators are always working in colour-accurate conditions.
