Proofing

Inkjet Proofs: For colour accurate contract proofs, we use the Kodak Matchprint Inkjet System, the industry’s most accepted brand. Calibration and process control are automated by means of an in-line spectrophotometer and with instant feedback of the instrument’s readings to the host computer. The results are recorded on printer generated control strips with indication for approval or alerts for rejection of colour targets and tolerances. Every proof has to pass our stringent quality control procedure. Hemlock provides lower resolution Digiline™ proofs for content approval and inspection of page trims, sequencing, folding, cover, spine dimensions, varnish areas etc.

Press Proofs: For complex spot colour work, a press proof of selected images and page elements are recommended. The advantages of a press proof are multifaceted:

• Proofs will be printed on job-specified paper and Pantone inks
• A variety of sample concepts can be tested
• Varnish options can be tested
