In 2005, after exhaustive testing, the Hemlock team determined that the quality levels, product offering and predictability of digital presses had finally been addressed. Studying the top presses on the market, Hemlock strategically selected the Hewlett Packard HP Indigo 5000 press. Since its installation, we have printed many jobs ranging from short-run colour work to data-intensive one-to-one direct marketing – all with the high level of quality for which we’re known and respected.

The Indigo 5000 digital press is unique in the marketplace for its quality, versatility and adaptability. Similar to traditional offset printing, the Indigo uses liquid inks and an offset blanket to transfer the ink to the substrate. HP ElectroInk® technology enables the ink to be directed using electrically charged particles. With each revolution of the printing cylinders, 100% of the ink is removed, enabling totally different imagery and content on each and every impression.
